How to Apply for Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) 2019?

 

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) is a joint immigration program that the federal government of Canada runs in coordination with 4 Atlantic Provinces of Canada. The app allows employers in the Atlantic region to employ foreign skilled and qualified candidates for job vacancies, for which they don’t find the right employee locally. Here are the four Atlantic Provinces which participate in AIPP:

  • Prince Edward Island
  • New Brunswick
  • Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Nova Scotia

You can apply for Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) 2019 from overseas or being in Canada temporarily, provided you have a prior job offer from the Atlantic employer. This Pilot program provides you with the permanent resident status if you and your employer fulfill the requirements of the program. The PR status allows you to live and work in Canada on a permanent status. Hence, it is one of the easiest ways to immigrate to Canada’s Atlantic regions and obtain Permanent residency status. The AIPP has three main categories, and as an applicant, you need to choose any one of them which matches your profile the best. Here are three main categories of AIPP:

Eligibility Requirements for the AIPP 2019

  • Eligibility requirements for Atlantic High-Skilled Program

    • Minimum one-year experience working in management, professional or technical/skilled job
    • Applicant needs to have at least a Canadian high school diploma or equivalent education
    • Provide a language proficiency test in English or French to show you can communicate in these languages
    • Show you can support yourself and your family when you come to Canada
  • Eligibility requirements for Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program

    • Work experience in a job that requires a high school education and/or job-specific training for minimum one year have at least a Canadian high school diploma or equivalent education.
    • Provide a language proficiency test in English or French to show you can communicate in these languages
    • Evidence that you can support yourself and your family when you land in Canada

Processing time of AIPP 2019

The processing time of the application received for Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program is 6 months. You also require providing your biometric details as per the new process (needed for most of the visa categories now). The mentioned processing time includes the time you need to give your biometrics.

What are the Fees Applicable for Applying in AIPP 2019?

The fees for applying in AIPP is starting at $1,040. However, it doesn’t include the charges applicable during the PR application process. Here are the other applicable charges

  • Permanent Residency fees applicable, when you fill the application for the same
  • Medical certificate fees, which you need to provide as part of a process
  • IELTS Test Fee- The fees for English language Proficiency Test is approximately $300 to $400
  • Police clearance certificate (PCC) fee per person
