IRCC Issued 3,600 ITAs to Express Entry Candidates in 18th September Draw

In a draw held on Wednesday, 18th September, the Canadian government has invited total 3,600 candidates in an Express Entry draw to apply for permanent residence in Canada.

With this latest draw, the total number of invitations to apply (ITAs) issued to eligible candidates under the Express Entry system has reached up to 63,400 so far in the year 2019. This number of ITAs are even more than previous year s ITAs issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) during the same time period, which was 58,600.

For this year, Canada is targeting to welcome 81,400 candidates by 2019 for the three of its Federal High Skilled categories and for 2020, the expected figures are approximately 85,800 ITAs.

With a minimum CRS score of 462 points, this draw has marked one the lowest cutoff score in comparison to the previously held draw s score of 463.

The tie-break in the latest 18th September draw was 29th August, at 07:57:13 UTC. It clearly indicates that all those candidates who have scored 462 or above points and have created their Express Entry profiles before the said date and time will receive their Invitation to Apply (ITAs).

The reason behind this one point fall in the minimum score is a two-week long gap between today’s draw and the previously held draw on 4th September 2019.

Express Entry System

The Express Entry system is one of the key economic immigration programs in Canada. It manages a candidate pool for three key Federal High Skilled economic immigration stream of Canada.

Below are the three programs falling under the Express Entry System:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Class
  • Federal Skilled Trades Class
  • Canadian Experience Class

All those candidates who are eligible are ranked according to their overall CRS score in the pool. This score and ranking are done by IRCC on the basis of candidate s key profile factors, like age, skilled work experience, English or French language proficiency, education, etc.

After assessing profiles of each candidate, IRCC ranks all the candidates and among all, the highest-ranked candidates get their invitation to apply via regular Express Entry draws, which typically held bi-weekly.

In addition to this, if a candidate possesses a provincial nomination via any of the mentioned Express Entry-aligned categories, then the candidate gets additional 600 CRS points and is guaranteed to receive an ITA in a next Express Entry draw.
