You are ranked in the Express Entry pool as per the Comprehensive Ranking System, which ranks under the following aspects:

There is a total of 1,200 points under the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) The Government of Canada selects immigration candidates from the Express Entry pool as per their ranking.

Accordingly, it is in the best interest of a candidate to strive to improve his/her ranking and maximize the chances of receiving an ITA (Invitation to Apply) for permanent residence.

Once your profile is awarded CRS points, your profile will be ranked on the basis of these points and the profile with the highest rank will be issued an ITA (Invitation to Apply) to apply for Canadian PR Visa.

Express Entry - Stepwise Process to Apply Immigration to Canada from India 2020

  • As an Indian Canada PR applicant, you need to register your profile in the Express Entry system, for which you need two key documents, i.e.
    • IELTS Test to prove English proficiency and
    • Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) from World Education Service or any other approved institution by the Canadian government.
  • Once these documents obtained, you are all set to create your profile in an express entry
  • Register profile under FSW category and score minimum of 67 points out of 100
  • You will reach in the EE pool, where you will get a point score or CRS score, which must be 400 plus as per the current demand.
  • If you meet or exceed the cut off announced in any of EE draw, you will get an Invitation to apply Canada PR from IRCC.
  • Now, you need to submit a complete Canada PR Application to the IRCC along with the required documents, i.e. PCC and medical certificate and other demographic related documents, etc.
  • If all verification with regards to your application stands clear and perfect, you will get the approval of PR visa from the concerned department.

However, if your CRS score in the express entry is low, you may also choose to apply in the most appropriate Provincial Nominee Program(PNP). The PNPs belong to various provinces (states) of Canada.

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs)

The PNPs allow Canadian territories and provinces to nominate candidates who wish to immigrate and settle in a particular province.

Each Canadian province (except Quebec and Nunavut) has its own Provincial Nominee Program with at least one immigration stream aligned with the federal Express Entry system.

Provincial nominations issued under these streams are called enhanced nominations and get additional 600 CRS points.
