How To Create Express Entry Profile Without IELTS?

The requirement of English language proficiency test, i.e. IELTS (International English Language Testing System) often becomes a key concern of the skilled professionals applying permanent residency in Canada. Express Entry is the most popular online immigration system of Canada. The language test is one of the key requirements of Federal Express Entry System. However, the applicants often wonder as to when exactly that require? Can an applicant submit it later with the PR application (i.e. the time when invitation is already issued by IRCC)? Let’s find out.

Is IELTS mandatory for creating express entry profile?

Canada Express entry is based on a point system that evaluate the profile of an applicant and subsequently, give it points based on some factors, such as, age, education, language ability (English or French), work experience, etc. if you are applying as a foreign skilled worker, you must obtain minimum 67 points out of 100 under Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) category of Express Entry. These points will be calculated based on all above mentioned factors.

Now, proficiency in English or French is one of the factors based on which you get valuable points in express entry and get selected as eligible applicant (on scoring minimum 67 points) at first stage. Hence, one thing is sure that you need to provide the language test result with minimum CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) 7 score in primary language. If you will not submit the language test result, your points cannot be calculated for Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) and CEC (Comprehensive Ranking System) Score allocated in Express Entry pool (in second stage of EE process).

If you are not comfortable with IELTS Test, you can opt for sitting in other third party language tests approved by IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada).
