Canada Immigration Processing Fees Updated w.e.f April 30th

In order to adjust for inflation, the Canadian government has increased processing fees for a few immigration programs for the first time since 2002.

The government processing fees for a few immigration applications have been updated w.e.f. 9:00 a.m. EDT on April 30, 2020.

The key reason behind this step is to address the noteworthy imbalance between the cost of services being provided to the newcomers coming to Canada and the amount of fees paid by them.

This imbalance has somewhere urged the taxpayers in Canada to heavily subsidize the process. But, with this step, there is hope to cast a balance between the Canadian immigration applicants and taxpayers.

The IRCC has also hinted about an additional fee hike incoming 2022.
