Quebec Updated Facilitated LMIA List of Occupations

The federal government has given more autonomy to Quebec in comparison to other Canadian provinces in terms of its immigration policies and processes. That is why the immigration programs of Quebec are treated separately.

For this reason, Quebec has unique programs and requirements for the hiring of overseas skilled workers. Specifically, Quebec facilitates the simplification of foreign worker s hiring process via facilitated LMIA process.

Quebec s simplified processing occupations list is annually updated and the updated list came into effect from 24th February 2020 to meet the labor market needs in all the regions of Quebec.

The employer has got 30 days transitional period to examine the submitted application as per the previous year s list (2019).

Quebec s List of Occupations for the Facilitated LMIA Simplified Processing, includes total 116 occupations in which most of the occupations were also a part of last year s list, while 9 occupations have been removed from this list, which includes:

This facilitated the LMIA assessment process includes high demand professions in Quebec. The list of occupations is developed and updated by the Emploi-Québec and MIFI.

This list contains higher-skilled occupations that are classified under the NOC skill type B (technical), skill levels A (professional) and skill level 0 (management).

All the employers who apply under the facilitated LMIA process doesn t need to show any recruitment efforts or advertising proofs. But, they should make continuous recruitment efforts to hire Canadian citizens and permanent residents before issuing a job offer to any foreign worker.
