Ontario Opened the Latest OINP Draw on 12th July 2019

Ontario province s tech draws are all set to open permanent residency gateways for aspiring tech workers in total six occupations, including:

  • Software engineers and designers (NOC 2173)
  • Computer programmers and interactive media developers (NOC 2174)
  • Computer engineers (NOC 2147)
  • Web designers and developers (NOC 2175)
  • Database analysts and data administrators (NOC 2172)
  • Computer and information systems managers (NOC 0213)

With a target to nominate express Entry candidates for Canadian permanent residents who have required work experience in the technology sector, Ontario has launched the latest OINP Draw on July 12, 2019. Earlier, it was announced by the government of Ontario that an exclusive tech workers stream will be created. But, now there is going to be a targeted draw, which will be held periodically under its Human Capital Priorities Stream for those Express Entry candidates who worked or have been working in any of the above stated 6 tech occupations.

The province invites thousands of skilled workers via its various streams of programs and the one which is considered as most popular is Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities Stream (linked with Express Entry system).

While sending nominations, this stream considers Comprehensive Ranking Score of each candidate. It targets skilled workers under the Express Entry pool who are eligible under key factors, including, education, work experience, age, language proficiency, etc. to settle and establish successfully in Ontario.

At present, the province is facing a shortage of skilled workers with tech experience. It is estimated to invite approximately 220,000 skilled workers under the Information and Communication Technology sector of Canada by the year 2021.
