Nova Scotia Issued LOIs to French-Speaking Express Entry Candidates

In a first NSNP draw of 2020 held on 27th April, the Canadian province, Nova Scotia has invited eligible Express Entry candidates under NSNP's Labour Market Priorities Stream.

All the invited candidates are now eligible to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada PR visa via Nova Scotia's Labour Market Priorities Stream.

Please note, the province has not yet released the number of LOIs issued to candidates and their minimum CRS score requirements for this particular NSNP draw held on 27th April.

But, out of all the Express Entry candidates invited, those who will successfully get a provincial nomination will receive an additional 600 points against their overall CRS score, which will effectively guarantee them an ITA (invitation to apply) for permanent residence of Canada.

Latest NSNP Draw- Selection criteria

In this 27th April draw, the province has issued Letters of Interest to those Express Entry candidates whose first official language is French and who have scored minimum CLB 8 or above in all French language abilities including, reading, listening, speaking, and writing.

Other key eligibility criteria of this draw are as follows:

  • Candidates must meet the minimum eligibility criteria to qualify to enter the Express Entry pool
  • Candidates must have a valid Express Entry number
  • Candidates must obtain CLB 6 or above score in all four English language abilities
  • Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or a three years study program or more from a university, technical or trade school or college
  • Candidates must submit copies of their both language tests and education proof

All the candidates who have received their letter of interest in the 27th April draw are requested to submit their final and complete application along with supporting documents to the Nova Scotia Nominee Program within 60 calendar days.

About Nova Scotia Nominee Program's Labour Market Priorities Stream

Under this stream, Nova Scotia nominates those candidates from the federal Express Entry pool who meet the province's labour market needs. Those candidates who get an LOI (Letter of Interest) from the Immigration office of Nova Scotia are eligible to apply for provincial nomination.

In order to apply, a candidate must:

  • Obtain a Letter of Interest from the NSNP within their Express Entry profile
  • Submit their application within 60 days of receiving LOI
  • Meet the minimum work-experience criteria as per Express Entry stream under which he/she has qualified
  • Show enough proof of funds so that he/she can successfully establish with family in Nova Scotia
  • Have legal status in his/her home country
  • Have a valid Express Entry profile and meet IRCC's MEC, i.e. minimum eligibility criteria to enter the Express Entry pool
