AINP Issued 187 NOIs under Alberta Express Entry Stream

In an AINP draw held on June 17, 2020, Alberta had invited total 187 eligible candidates under Alberta Express Entry stream.

The details of the draw were announced recently on 8th of July to inform about the number of invitations issued and the cut off score requirement, which was only 303 CRS points.

Such a low CRS score requirement is always the highlight of Alberta Express Entry Stream and makes it popular among skilled workers outside Canada.

All the invited candidates are now eligible to apply for a provincial nomination, and are now a step closer to their Canada PR visa.

Since a provincial nominee fetches 600 additional points towards overall CRS score, it is like assurance of receiving an ITA for Canada PR in upcoming Express Entry draw.

With this latest invitation round, Alberta has invited a total of 1,785 candidates under Express Entry stream so far in 2020. The provincial allocation for Alberta is not yet released for the year 2020.

Alberta Express Entry stream

Introduced in the year 2018, AINP allows Alberta to select eligible candidates from the federal Express Entry pool, who can meet the specific labor market requirements of Alberta.

The Express Entry system manages the candidate pool for key economic immigration program including:

Eligible candidates enter into the Express Entry pool and get score based on Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Candidates with the highest-rank are issued ITAs for Canadian PR via regular EE draws.

Application Process of  Alberta Express Entry stream

In order to be eligible to apply under Alberta Express Entry stream, the candidates score a minimum cut off as per latest draw. They must be working in an occupation that supports the diversification and economic development priorities of Alberta.

Though it is not compulsory to have a job offer, but keeping the current travel restriction in mind, following are set as mandatory requirements for nomination:

  • A candidate must be working in Alberta (it could be work from home as well)
  • A candidate must have a work permit that authorizes him/her to work in current job
  • A candidate must have a full-time, paid job that can meets Alberta's minimum wage, exceed Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) requirements
